The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is currently recruiting to fill 10 Staff Psychiatrist openings at Torrance State Hospital, in Westmoreland County.
Nature of Work: Staff Psychiatrists are responsible for the care and treatment of patients with a mental health or co-occurring diagnosis. You will provide these services to patients in a state hospital. Examinations, diagnoses, treatment and other therapeutic functions are performed under the general direction of a higher level psychiatrist.
In order to be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Additional Requirement: Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
